What to expect

You will be picked up at your address by a minivan and taken to a private family property in Kaštela. Once there, you will be welcomed by your host and greeted with olive oil tasting accompanied with a cold plate of home-made cheese and original Drniš prosciutto, two sorts of local wine and some typical snacks.
After your thirst is satisfied you will be invited in a carriage driven by two magnificent horses and set off on a ride through Kaštela that will take you to your first stop – the 1500-year-old olive tree, Mastrinka in Kaštel Štafilić. It is one of the oldest olive trees in Europe and you will hear more about it from your tour guide who will entertain you with local history during the whole tour.
Your next stop will be the 2-centuries-old konoba at Vuletin Vinery where time seems to have stopped. You will be greeted with a home made typical local liqueur made of rose petals, something you cannot find around every corner. In the cool freshness of the old konoba, still keeping authentic wooden barrels that witnessed many centuries, you will sample 2 types of wine made of seven wine varieties typical for Kaštela served with some seafood snacks. As you sip your wine, you will have the opportunity to hear first-hand how the true origin of Zinfandel wine was discovered.
Afterwords you will board the wine carriage again to cruise along the picturesque Kaštela promenade while listening a story about two tragic Shakespearean lovers from Kaštela, Miljenko and Dobrila. You will be shown their birth places, the Rušinac Castle and Vitturi Castle which you will also visit inside as this is the today’s City Museum.
Once your curiosity is satisfied, we will continue our horse carriage ride to our last stop – Perišin winery in Kaštel Kambelovac where you will taste two white wines of Maraština sort as well as the famous Crljenak kaštelanski, better known as Zinfandel, accompanied by a cold plate of cheese and pancetta. Your tour ends with some delicious dessert again on the family estate of Kapov family, where we started.
